These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Tangled website, mobile application, and related services operated by Tangled Social.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tangled website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Tangled Social ("Tangled," "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- you meet the minimum age requirement;
- you are legally able to enter into a binding agreement; and
- your use of the Service does not violate any applicable law or regulation.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. Your Account
You may need to create an account to use some parts of the Service. You agree to:
- provide accurate, current, and complete information;
- keep your login credentials secure and confidential;
- promptly update your information if it changes; and
- accept responsibility for activity that occurs under your account.
We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these Terms or if your account is used in a way that could harm Tangled, other users, or third parties.
3. The Service
Tangled is a social platform designed to help users connect through profiles, conversations, groups, events, and related community features. We may add, remove, modify, or suspend features at any time.
We do not guarantee that:
- you will find matches, groups, friends, or events that meet your expectations;
- other users will respond to you;
- the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free; or
- any user content will be accurate, complete, or reliable.
4. Acceptable Use
You may not use Tangled to:
- violate any law or regulation;
- harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, abuse, or harm another person;
- post or share unlawful, defamatory, obscene, hateful, sexually exploitative, or otherwise objectionable content;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
- collect, scrape, or harvest user data without permission;
- send spam, scams, phishing messages, or other unsolicited communications;
- upload malware, viruses, or harmful code;
- interfere with the operation or security of the Service;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or networks;
- use the Service for commercial solicitation without our written permission; or
- encourage or facilitate unsafe or illegal offline conduct.
We may investigate violations and remove content or restrict accounts at our discretion.
5. User Content
The Service may allow you to create, post, upload, submit, send, or display content, including profile information, messages, photos, text, comments, event details, and other materials ("User Content").
You retain ownership of your User Content. However, by submitting User Content through the Service, you grant Tangled Social a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, perform, distribute, and otherwise use that User Content solely for the purpose of operating, improving, promoting, and providing the Service.
You are solely responsible for your User Content and for the consequences of posting or sharing it. You represent and warrant that:
- you own or have the necessary rights to your User Content;
- your User Content does not violate these Terms, applicable law, or any third-party rights; and
- your User Content is not misleading, unlawful, or fraudulent.
We may remove or restrict User Content at any time if we believe it violates these Terms or may expose Tangled or others to harm or liability.
6. Safety and In-Person Interactions
Tangled may facilitate introductions, messaging, group participation, or attendance at events, including events organised by users or third parties.
You understand and agree that:
- you are solely responsible for your interactions with other users;
- Tangled does not control or guarantee the conduct, identity, intentions, or safety of users or third parties;
- any decision to meet in person, share personal information, or attend an event is at your own risk; and
- Tangled is not responsible for the actions of users or third parties, whether on or off the Service.
Always use caution and good judgment when interacting with others online or offline. If you feel unsafe or experience misconduct, stop interacting and contact the appropriate authorities where necessary.
7. Privacy

Please read it carefully to understand how we collect, use, and disclose information.
8. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, services, or content. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services or their terms, privacy practices, or content.
Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and may be subject to separate terms and policies.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, software, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, and other content provided by Tangled, is owned by or licensed to Tangled Social and is protected by intellectual property and other laws.
Except as expressly permitted by us in writing, you may not:
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, license, or exploit any part of the Service;
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code, except where prohibited by law; or
- use our name, branding, or materials without permission.
"Tangled" and related names, logos, and branding are the property of Tangled Social or its licensors.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if:
- you violate these Terms;
- we believe your conduct creates risk or possible legal exposure;
- required by law; or
- we discontinue the Service or any part of it.
Upon termination, the rights granted to you under these Terms will end immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, and dispute resolution.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tangled Social disclaims all warranties, including any implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, accurate, or free from errors, viruses, or harmful components.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tangled Social and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, business opportunity, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tangled Social's total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of:
- the amount you paid to Tangled Social for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose; or
- SGD 100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tangled Social and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and licensors from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to:
- your use of the Service;
- your User Content;
- your violation of these Terms; or
- your violation of any law or third-party rights.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Service, by email, or by other reasonable means.
The updated Terms will become effective when posted unless otherwise stated. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore.
16. Dispute Resolution
If you have a dispute or complaint relating to the Service or these Terms, please contact us first at tangled@tangledsocial.com and we will try to resolve the matter in good faith.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the courts of Singapore will have exclusive jurisdiction over the dispute, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
